How it all began...

Nikolaus Rauchenecker founded the brewery in 1864. As was customary at that time, the beer was served in the attached “Bräustüberl” (brewery tavern) and sold in the immediate vicinity. From the very beginning an important regional brand emerged over the course of time.

The cornerstone for the current “Hohenthanner Schlossbrauerei” was laid with the purchase of the “Schloss” (Chateau) situated next to the brewery in 1936. The present owner, Klaus Rauchenecker, took over the brewery in 1961 and transformed it into a modern, handicraft enterprise. His son Johannes will follow in these footsteps and carry on the regional solidarity as well as the highly developed brewing culture of the family enterprise.
